PROJECTS, COMMUNICATION, TRAINING
Castle Craig Hospital (2010 – 2011): attracting clients from Romania and Central and Eastern Europe. Developed a strategy to promote Castle Craig Hospital (one of the leading rehab centers in Europe) in Romania and the former Soviet Union, using networking, the internet and the media to offer a solution to alcoholics and drug addicts.
World Horse Welfare (2005 - 2011): communication strategy, project management, publishing, newsletter. Managed the communication campaign for Project Romania, a five year project that included seminars for veterinarians and students, various promotional materials, an online presence, yearly newsletter, photography and filming, events and media relations. Avrig City Hall (2009): develop communication strategy. Developed a communication strategy for the small Transylvanian city of Avrig, including messages that promote Avrig as Romania’s first green city that is aiming to become energy independent by 2030. Facilitated media relations by publishing an article in Romania’s Diplomat Magazine.
WRD (ARD) German Public TV (2009): fixing. Assisted WRD in making a documentary about Inter Country Adoption in Romania, including identifying the cases, arranging the shooting schedule and trip logistics for the WRD team; translation and liaising with Romanian TV stations for archive footage release. Western Midlands Enterprise PLC (2008 – 2009): training SME’s on structural funds. Designed and delivered a communication training course to Romania’s Ministry of Finance; trained SME representatives in how to apply for an EU Structural Funds project; training delivered in Iasi, Cluj and Timisoara. Promeso Consulting (2009): communication training. Media relations training for BCR (Banca Comerciala Romana) executives; training on how to develop public awareness campaigns for ADR North East (Agentia de Dezvoltare Regionala). Visit the Promeso website.
* CNA (Consiliul National al Audiovizualului), Phare project (2008): Public Awareness Campaign. Managed a high profile/low budget awareness campaign addressed to parents about the risks of “abandoning” their children in front of TV; produced TV and radio ads, 50,000 school brochures and outdoor banner ads all over Romania; restructured the CNA website.
The Romanian National Forestry Authority – Romsilva (2008): communication training. Designed a course for Romsilva representatives from each of Romania’s 42 counties, covering communication strategy development, local media relations (including interview skills), developing messages, planning a publication or website. The 3 day event was filmed and a 2 hour training documentary was produced.
LDK (2007 – 2008): communication consultancy, design, photography. International Media relations for the National Authority for the Protection of Child Rights; promoting the reform of Romania’s child welfare system. Resulted in positive coverage in New York Times, Guardian, AP, as well as over 40 other global news channels.
Baroness Nicholson MEP (2005 – 2008): international media relations. Advised Baroness Nicholson on the best way to deal with international media and drafted a new website for her European Parliament profile.
Ministry of Interior and Administration, Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (2007): communication strategy and documentary film. Drafted a national strategy for communication in the event of a natural disaster/emergency, for Romania’s government (was subsequently adopted into law); produced a documentary film which commemorated the devastating Earthquake of 1997.
*Ministry of Finance, through DFID (2005 - 2007): draft communications strategy for Romania’s National Development Plan. Develop a communication strategy that would properly link the National Development Plan Unit of the Ministry of Finance with all the partners responsible for drafting, amending and supporting the Plan. Designed their logo, as well as print and design other promotional materials (website, folder, poster, leaflet and brochure, DVDs).
*London Observer and Guardian (2006): fixing for journalists visits. Arrange the visit of Guardian's Ian Traynor and other British journalists in Romania in order to cover the story of the child protection reform system and practices in the country.
*International Labour Office (2004): Advanced English language training. Designed and delivered an English language course for advanced users of English language, for regional reps of ILO from Albania, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine.
*Britsh Embassy (2004): EU Accession - edit Romania’s chapter on Justice and Home Affairs. An urgent job with Romania’s Ministries of Justice and Interior in the last few months to EU accession: editing the English language text of the 12 chapters (over 1,000 pages). The chapter was finally accepted by the European Commission in late 2006, in time for Romania’s accession.
PROMOTION, DESIGN, PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION
Vaslui County Council (2006): design, print. Design four leaflets, a poster and a brochure for distribution to farmers in Vaslui County (NE Romania) to raise awareness about the EU’s agricultural practices and subsidies. The leaflets were awarded the Best Leaflet Prize under Phare’s Europa Fund, and you can see them here: leaflet 1, leaflet 2, leaflet 3, leaflet 4.
*From Phare to Structural Funds (2005): proofread, design, publish and distribute manuals all over Romania. Publish a series of five manuals on how to plan, implement, manage and monitor Structural Funds for Romanian local public authorities, including: proofreading of all texts, design and layout of manuals, printing and delivering manuals all over Romania. *Promeso Consulting (2004 – 2005): communication strategy for a small business. Develop a communication strategy to boost the company’s efforts to promote themselves to existing and future clients, corporate identity (logo and slogan, ID manual, business cards, letterhead, folder etc.); other promotional materials.
DOCUMENTARIES, PROJECT FILMS, POST PRODUCTION SERVICES
Generation Europe (2009 – 2010): subtitle a film for the European Commission in 20 EU languages, production of 131,000 DVDs. In just a little over a month, we subtitled this film into 20 European languages, made a DVD master with menu and cover design and produced 131,000 DVDs in UK.
Children’s High Level Group (2006 - 2011): 4 project films, photography. Documentary film of the Community Action Pilot Programme in Moldova, as well as other project films about the Community Action Summer Projects that unites over 40,000 high school volunteers from UK and Romania with children with special needs.
*ICR (Institutul Cultural Roman) New York (2008): translate subtitles for Romanian films. Edited and condensed the subtitles on a number of classic Romanian films – in English, for screening in a Romanian film festival in New York City.
*DFID, UK Govt Department for International Development (2004 - 2007): project documentaries. Assist DFID Romania in promoting their work through a series of project films about subsistence agriculture (the documentary Little Farmers), project development and partnerships (the documentary Partners in Action), and supporting the youth (the documentary School Enterprise Program). Also, published a book about the most important of DFID’s projects in Romania (identify projects, interview people, write and translate interviews, photography of people and projects, design and layout of the book, printing and distribution all over Romania) - see www.partnersforeurope.ro. Also Made a 15 minute documentary about DFID’s work in Russia (over 800 projects were financed), and organized a major event to celebrate DFID’s departure from Russia.
*Human Dynamics (2006): project films on Roma Phare project. Made a series of three short documentaries about some of the projects that received grant funding under the Phare programme. These projects were all run in partnership between the local authorities and the Roma community and the purpose of the films was to show how the projects bettered the life of the people and how even the greater obstacles can be overrun through meaningful partnerships.
*British Embassy (2004 – 2005): observational documentary on Roma issues. Made a full length documentary film, entitled The Land Is Waiting to support the Embassy’s Roma inclusion strategy. The film depicted a Roma family living off their land in a poor Romania village, a family who was struggling to put all their children to school and college, while battling prejudice and hardship. The film won several awards at international film festivals.
* Those projects which are marked with an asterisk were implemented by our team members without involving the company. But since the same people that work for Productive also worked on these projects, we decided to include them in our team's track record.
